Supporting the culinary program at Johnson & Wales University
Otis McAllister supports the culinary program at Johnson & Wales University – the largest culinary school in the US. Johnson & Wales trains chefs and foodservice professionals from two campuses – Providence, RI and Charlotte, NC.
Our Director Sales-East, Trang Tran, works directly with the University and is also a 2005 Culinary Arts program graduate.

Trang introduced us to Johnson & Wales in 2016. Following a campus tour of the culinary program and meeting instructors, we began to donate products for the students to use in their training.
We want these students to work with the very finest imported rice and grains – and to be familiar with the Otis McAllister brands when they enter the work world.
Otis McAllister donates about 10,000 to 20,000 pounds annually of our branded products jasmine, basmati, arborio, and quinoa to be used by students during their culinary training.
“The reason for our success is that we are able to offer the best possible products and ingredients from companies like Otis McAllister in our curriculum. Simply put, we would not remain a leader in culinary education without support from donors like you.”
Maureen Dumas, Ed.D. Vice President, John & Wales University
We are thrilled to be able to support the Johnson & Wales University as it trains the next generation of chefs and culinary professionals for the foodservice industry.
